Many studies have shown that women are better than men at distinguishing between emotions, especially fear and disgust. However a new a new study published in the journal Neuropsychologia expands on the existing research. The university researchers hired actors and actresses to simulate fear and disgust instead of using photographs or films as used in previous experiments on the subject.
The research was conducted at the Université de Montréal Centre and demonstrated that women are better than men at processing auditory, visual and audiovisual emotions.
